The moment the Archangel of Death, Maltheal, went after the stone, and Diablo 4 Gold then turned on all of his allies, it was Tyrael who was the one to send his friend into Pandemonium to end death itself.

Tyrael opts to stay in his mortal form , but joins his angelic brethren to become the Aspect of Justice and of Wisdom. Diablo 3 ends with him contemplating whether his new mortal companion, who may be corrupted, will one day become the new menace for Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary as well as the existence itself. It's clear that the Aspect of Justice and Wisdom most likely won't be content while Inarius leads an army into Hell to find his past love, Lilith.

The most recent Diablo 4 cinematic trailer from Blizzard is a scene of Inarius fighting Lilith Armed forces at both sides. Although this trailer does not show Tyrael's involvement directly, his creation of the Horadrim as well as his influence on the Paladins from Sanctuary implies that he's definitely involved. Dark and light battles at the front, and the now-dead Tyrael is a middleman.

It is highly likely that his presence will be experienced through these intermediaries unless events take his hands. Tyrael still feels the repercussions of the destruction of his Worldstone at the conclusion of Diablo 2. This mystical object protected Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell, and he now protects the land as its successor. Tyrael doesn't appear to be leading any further actions into Hell or take his fight any further in his current position at the Pandemonium Fortress, where he may offer advice like Deckard Cain for those who will stay and listen.

Five classes playable in Diablo are currently being announced, and they all represent different versions of the previous games. Given each installment so far has brought something new to the table and exciting, maybe Tyrael could become a player in the battle to balance the two sides by giving players the chance to take on angelic or demon-like powers in exchange for duties to Sanctuary. This kind of strategy could be a natural progression from the multi-tree expansion that was previously made public for the series.

It is unlikely that Blizzard plans to transform Angels as well as Demons into classes, since the franchise focuses on the people trapped between their ways. But as a mortal trapped between Heaven and Hell Tyrael occupies the position that is unlike anything else in all of Diablo story. He'll likely to be acting as a balancer in the story, or even an impartial voice, instead of being a party player like he once did. Even when forced to take positions, Tyrael understands his role as a mortals, which is why he'll most likely take part in the events of Diablo IV Gold.
